Michael Bay's Transformers opened in the United States on 3 July 2007, after preview screenings the evening before.
The film carried roughly 630 visual effects shots, split across several vendors: 430 at Industrial Light & Magic, 91 at Digital Domain and 70 at Asylum, with the remaining 2D cleanup and fixes handled elsewhere. Robert Moggach worked on the film as lead Flame artist.
